Hello & Welcome

Seeking professional help is a big step and finding a counsellor you feel a connection with is important. I hope that sharing a little about myself and the work I do will help you decide if you would like to work with me.

I’m Vicki, a qualified and professionally trained counsellor and founder of Hopeful Light.

I am a mother and grandmother who adores her family. I love to cook, dance, spend time outdoors and read books that inspire me to keep learning and growing.

I am an empathic and compassionate person by nature and have a keen interest in helping people to successfully navigate major life changes.

My desire to help people comes from a very personal place because I understand what it feels like to face a difficult life change, live with a chronic illness and be diagnosed with a life-threatening disease.

The challenges I have experienced in my life have caused pain, fear, stress, shame, guilt, and physical disabilities that often made living and raising a family impossible. I constantly worried about how I would cope and manage the challenges I would have to face and the dreams and hopes of a future that might never happen. This led me on a path of discovery that has taught me resilience and gratitude. I also learned new ways to cope better and harness my inner strength to thrive and live a life with purpose.

My vision is to support people who are going through a difficult health challenge or life change and help them restore hope and build resilience to live a joyous life. I draw from my professional training and personal experience to provide a safe space to openly share your story and talk through your concerns without fear of criticism or judgement.

I would love to work with you to identify your goals, build the strength you need to overcome any concerns, make decisions that are right for you and help you learn new ways to work through your life change while reducing any confusion, stress or anxiety.

As each person is different and our change journey unique to each of us, I work at your pace using a range of complementary practical counselling techniques, strategies and tools, tailored to your needs to help you cope better, achieve your goals and live a fulfilling life.
